Corporate Cornerstone |
Purpose – The purpose of the Corporate Cornerstone Program (CCP) is to provide an opportunity for donors to contribute to the operations of the United Way of Ventura County so that the maximum amount of money can go directly towards serving the community while simultaneously reducing the expenses of United Way. Corporate contributions can be in the form of cash, gifts, or in-kind.
The goal of the CCP is to underwrite 100% of United Way of Ventura County’s organizational expenditures.
Corporate Cornerstone Members
Corporate Cornerstone partners are large and small businesses, individuals, and foundations that have chosen to direct their gifts to assist with United Way of Ventura County’s operating expenses. Membership requirements include an annual gift valued at $5,000 or more. The CCP, therefore, allows employees and other donors to keep their contributions nearly whole by providing the much-needed support to the United Way organization.
The Corporate Cornerstone Program is a cooperative spirit recognition program. Once the base donation of $5,000 is achieved, CCP associates will become eligible for co-branding partnerships and event recognition opportunities with the other Major Gift initiatives of United Way. The CCP reflects true commitment to the community.
Participation levels in the Corporate Cornerstone Program are:

Within these participation levels, there are a variety of ways Corporate Cornerstone Partners can invest in the United Way of Ventura County. For example:
- Capacity – Contribute to cover specific infrastructure costs. With a very small staff, money is raised and allocated to a broad range of health and human services in our community year-round.
- In-Kind – Donate products or services United Way of Ventura County needs for everyday operations.
Benefits
The benefits of becoming a Corporate Cornerstone member include an extensive recognition program on an annual basis that distinguishes our great corporate partners, friends, and foundations to the community. (See Benefit Matrix attached.)
New Associates of United Way
Sometimes the complexities of a business, family, foundation or other gift-giving outlets do not lend itself readily to a United Way campaign. The United Way of Ventura County’s Corporate Cornerstone Program, therefore, provides a yearly opportunity to support the organization and those who are dedicated to ensure that the community thrives by eliminating the social issues that hinder it.
Current United Way Campaign Companies
We strongly encourage our current United Way Campaign Companies to participate in this program as well. By doing so, the United Way of Ventura County can guarantee that nearly 100% of the employees contributions go to Community Impact or other designations specifically identified by them. By contributing a match that equates to the United Way operational expense and/or meets the $5,000 minimum, a company is eligible to become a Corporate Cornerstone Partner and benefit from the exclusive recognition program.
